YOUTH SPORTS
Sports camps offered to youth include t-ball, baseball, basketball, soccer, junior golf, cheerleading, Tae-Kwon-Do and self defense. The Parks and Recreation Department also offers a t-ball league for 3, 4, 5 & 6 year olds, and youth tennis lessons. In addition, the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department provides playing fields and facilities for youth leagues to participate in baseball, softball, soccer, swimming, ice hockey, football and figure skating. ADULT SPORTS
As adults take time out from work for leisure time, many are turning toward organized athletics as their recreational outlet. Not only does the Parks and Recreation Department sponsor a comprehensive softball program, which includes open and coed leagues, it also sponsors a year-round volleyball program and an adult kickball program. In addition, instructional activities and leagues are offered for tennis, golf, and other sports.
