The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department is committed to improving the quality of life for all Owensboro residents by providing a wide variety of leisure activities, special events, facilities, and services that encourage health, fitness, relaxation, enjoyment, and learning, as well as providing opportunities for community involvement and appreciation and care of the natural environment and the provision of open space and parks.

The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Administrative Center is located at 1530 McJohnson Avenue.

ENJOY LIFE

"Enjoy Life" is the slogan of the Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department and has been selected as the title of the Owensboro Parks and Recreation weekly television program.  The format of the show includes interviews with the Parks and Recreation staff and community partners to preview upcoming programs and events.  They also discuss opportunities available at Parks and Recreation facilities.  At the conclusion of each program, there will be a segment giving weekly updates.  Each new program will air at 1 p.m. on Monday on Cable Channel 44.  Days and times for the Enjoy Life show are listed on the City of Owensboro website at www.owensboro.org under Channel 44 Lineup.
