The Edge Ice Center is the only municipal ice arena in Kentucky. It is open year round and offers public skating, lessons, skate rental and sharpening, and a full concession and pro shop. Birthday parties and private rentals are available to groups and individuals. Call 687-8720 for information.

Looking for something different and COOL this summer for your child? Does your child still need a traditional day camp program and also loves to skate? If this sounds like your child, then we have the answer….Introducing the EDGE SUMMER CAMP.
The Edge Summer Camp operates like a traditional Day Camp, but with the addition of a focus on ice sports. Campers will be placed in groups that will focus on basic skating skills, figure skating skills, or hockey skills depending on his/her own interests. Instructors from the Youth Hockey Association and the Owensboro Figure Skating Club will be the Camp Counselors, and work on off-ice and on-ice techniques. Scrimmage games, skating competitions, and skills competitions will keep our ice campers entertained…..we guarantee the most fun you can have at day camp will be on ice!
Sample Day
7 -8 a.m: Early Room/Breakfast
8-8:30 a.m: Warm-up
8:30-noon: Groups rotate on-ice time and off-ice activities. Minimum 1-hour ice time for each group
Noon-1 p.m: Lunch/Free-time
1-2:30 p.m: Free time on ice
2:45 p.m: Snack
3-4:30 p.m: Down time (park, crafts, movies)
5 p.m: Wrap-up days activities
Example of off-ice activities: strength training (All), dry ground conditioning (All), ballet/musical interpretation (Freestyle), stretching and warm-up techniques (all), game play scenarios (Hockey), nutrition (All).
Example of on-ice activities: Moves in the Field (Freestyle), Stick handling (Hockey), forward and backward skating techniques (All), Power (Hockey and Freestyle), Game scenarios (Hockey), choreography and music appreciation (Freestyle).
FEES
Registration Fee: $25 non-refundable registration for each child.Advance payment for the first week of camp is due at the time of registration.
Weekly Fee: $80 per child per whole week; $65 per half week (3 days or fewer). A minimum $20 weekly fee will be charged, regardless of attendance. Includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, camp shirt and bag.

Home of the Owensboro Figure Skating Club
The Edge Ice Center is the home of the Owensboro Figure Skating Club. this club provides figure skating skill development for ISI levels Delta through Freestyle 10. Through this organization, skaters learn confidence, poise, and sportsmanship.

Summer Stick ‘N’ Puck
Attention hockey players! Need some extra on ice practice? Come out to Stick ‘N’ Puck! (Full gear is required.)
Dates: June 3-26
Times: Mondays, 5:45-6:45 p.m. (13-16 year olds)/Fridays, 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Fee: $6 per person (Pass cards available, 8 visits for the price of 6. See front counter for details)
Max: 35 per age group
B.A.D. (Basic Adult Development) HOCKEY
Designed for all levels of adult players (must be 18 years and over) with a focus on beginner skaters/players. Participants will spend approximately 30 minutes per week on basic hockey skills and then get the opportunity to put their new skills to the test during the remaining scrimmage time. Full gear is required.
Dates: Sundays (unless special event is booked) April 14 – August 25
Times: 6:15-7:15 p.m.
Fees: $6 per 1-hour session
